This past week I've had to take a bunch of Clinton's classes because he's on vacation. It's been an interesting couple of classes. All that I've had to fill in for have been middle school classes, if that may help explain the following. In the span of teaching 5 middle school classes, I've heard farting noises a handful of times, the word dung and pychoward (yes, they know the word) and distgusting more than a bunch of times. That's without getting to Jericho, and interesting character, telling me that he thinks Clinton is a handsome guy, not to mention telling me to keep it a secret one second after it was out of his mouth. Who knows what was up with that. The super high class he teaches that I had yesterday told me that I ask crazy questions, just like he does. Hmmm....like roommate, like roommate? Anyhow....it's been fun, but it'll soon be over in a couple of days. Than it's back to my normal schedule for a little while longer. I've been having fun with the slightly older kids though. In March, the beginning of the new school year, I've been told I'm gonna be taking over one of the classes full time. Hehehe....those kids don't know what's coming.

I just got done a little while ago tonight teaching my adult class. Only 3 came tonight, which is kinda a low turnout. It was ok though, cuz I had prepared a dialogue about shopping to go through and discuss and it just happened to have only 3 people in it. Anyhow....we read through it and they wrote down the meanings of different things. I don't usually do dialogues though, so this was a little different for them. After reading it, they seemed to basically getting the gist. I next thought of taking them into our back room, where we have a recording mic on a computer. They followed along, not really knowing what I wanted them to do. It was interesting for them though, after we did the recording, for them to sit back and follow the script again listening to themselves. You should have seen their faces, intently reading, while we were recording, not wanting to make any mistakes. Than they sat back and were concentrating even more while listening to themselves. I suppose it's kinda like hearing yourself speak for the first time on an answering machine, except even weirder, because it's a foreign language. I think they did like it though. I'm gonna record my own voice with a couple others doing the same conversation and give them each a copy of the cd with all the conversations on them. I think that at least one of them will study and listen to it a bunch of times.
